Power of the Purse Issues $11,700 in Grants

Nine local nonprofit organizations benefiting women and children’s initiatives received a total of $11,700 in grants on the opening night of <em>Southern Hospitality from the Power of the Purse, a women’s giving circle of the Community Foundation of West Georgia.

The 2015 Power of the Purse grants were awarded to the following organizations:

Carroll County CASA
• Carroll County Ferst Foundation
• Communities In Schools of Carrollton/Carroll Co., Inc.
• Hope for the Journey
• Legacy Council
• Pregnancy Resource Center
S.C.R.A.P Bin
University of West Georgia Georgia College of Education
West Georgia Regional Library

The Community Foundation of West Georgia’s Power of the Purse Fund is an organization of giving specifically for women of Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties. It offers donors the opportunity to join other women in donating funds and then deciding where the money will be used in support of women’s and children’s initiatives.
