    A new organization for female students in grades 3-5. Twenty female students will meet monthly to have a series of lessons on leadership skills, participate in two outreach field trips throughout Carroll County visiting key leadership organizations in Carroll County. As a culminating activity, the students will participate in a team building day at the Historic Banning Mills. Here students will learn how to set goals, work through problems, and develop leadership skills as they continue to grow and lead for the future.

    Each $100.00 donation will support one student.

    The PRC would like to offer moms-to-be seminars on specialized topics such as breastfeeding, child abuse avoidance, early literacy, finances/budgeting, infant/child CPR, job skills and healthy eating habits. These funds would go toward appropriately compensating the seminar leaders, purchasing needed materials for each seminar, and providing our participants with a great seminar experience.

    CASA would use these funds for extracurricular activities and seasonal camps for children who are in foster care because of abuse and/or neglect. Often times, foster children do not get to participate in these activities due to lack of funds. Research studies have proven that allowing foster to children to attend or participate in extra curricular activities improves their educational aspirations and their outcome when transitioning out of foster care.

    Funds will be utilized in supporting the advocacy efforts to provide a trained CASA volunteer for every foster child in Heard County. Coweta CASA expanded services to Heard County in July 2018.

    The women’s ministry will empower and build skills to women and adolescent girls in the following:

    1. To live for God
    2. Restoring dignity and self-worth as a woman.
    3. Have a gynecologist talk to women about menopause
    4. Back to school brunch for girls
    5. Teach a financial management for women
    6. Retreat/Conference to grow stronger in their faith and help for dealing with difficult emotions such as depression and loneliness, and reminders that we are each created in the image of God and are loved.

    Traumatic brain injury is a serious problem for children in our community. We perform a puppet show for elementary children on how to protect their brains. With the show, we provide a coloring book that repeats the information. This year we plan to provide the program to all Bremen Kindergartners.

    Funds will be used to buy the coloring books & bike helmets.

    To provide our female clients assistance in three areas:

    1. Transportation, back and forth to work, school, and daycare.
    2. Summer programs for children
    3. Emergency housing for women until they can secure work and find a permanent home that is safe for them and their children.

    The Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum would like to replace all of the Museum’s basic sewing machines for better quality machines. The machine students, women and children, are currently using is an entry level machine and is not suitable for some of the more advanced techniques that the students want to learn. $2,000 will enable us to purchase four more machines, replacing all old machines.

    This project will bring local high school seniors to the Temple Senior Center several times a year to help package and deliver small gift bags to the homebound elderly of the area. The high school seniors will write cards and notes of encouragement to go in the packages. The packages will include items like tissues, hand soap, small books, pens, candy or gum, puzzle books and other small items. The high school seniors will also participate in activities at the center.

    Families living at The Blake House need the opportunity to spend time with their fathers in order to reunite the families. That opportunity is offered on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at planned family events. The family members can visit and spend time at a structured and supervised time. During these events the children need to have fun and make good memories to help the families reunite.

    These funds would enable us to purchase sporting equipment like bats, gloves and balls, badminton sets, games and other items that will help the children interact with their fathers in a positive way .

    These funds will be used to build a curriculum for about 15-20 youth ages 3-18 who are living in poverty. Funds will pay for supplies and fees associated with a 12 unit curriculum that spans 18 months. For example, some funds are allocated for UWG’s Mobile Innovation Lab where youth can build robots and explore with Google expeditions. In another unit, youth will work with student artists to learn about ceramics then create bowls for West Georgia’s Empty Bowls project. It is necessary that students be exposed to avenues of learning in multiple settings in order to gain the perspectives necessary to thrive in P-16 education and the world in which they live.

    These funds will provide support to include: Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Grief Processing and Play Therapy with affiliate licensed clinical social worker and play therapist Danyale Weems.

    Experiencing a parent's death is particularly difficult at any age, for a child it literally may be unspeakable. The funds will be used to provide supportive services to a mother and a nine year old child in need of recovery from just such a trauma.

    Funds will be used to purchase incontinence supplies such as depends for low income elderly people. Incontinence is a significant health problem for older adults. It affects them physically by causing urinary tract infections, but also affects them socially because they are embarrassed by odor or the accidents that happen. This will greatly improve the quality of life for our elderly citizens.
