Meet Dr. Melanie McClellan
Dr. Melanie McClellan serves as Field Trip Project Coordinator, overseeing the process for Title I schools in Carroll, Haralson, and Heard counties to apply for funding for educational field trips made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor. She works closely with schools to ensure students have access to meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
Melanie brings a distinguished career in higher education, having retired from the University of West Georgia as Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Emerita. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Alabama, a Master of Education from Mississippi State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from The Ohio State University.
She finds great joy in seeing the excitement and appreciation from teachers when they realize these opportunities are available to their students. Knowing that these experiences can make a lasting impact on children who might not otherwise have access to them is what continues to inspire her work.
Outside of her role, Melanie enjoys reading and traveling.
